Many of the characters in the book reminded me of people in my own life. I found it easy to identify with them and their situations. I enjoyed reading Death in the Daylilies and highly recommend it!
Mystery with Southern Charm
By L.E. Millers
I absolutely loved this delightful mystery with charming Southern characters and intrigue around every bend! The story is sprinkled with Christian spirituality bringing a real depth to it. I really appreciated the incorporation of the author's detailed research into the varieties of daylilies and the competitive growing business. Although I usually don't read mysteries, this one captivated me from the start with the interesting strong female characters trying to resolve the crime. I thoroughly enjoyed stepping into this Southern town filled with warm hospitality and friendship.

"In Death In The Daylilies, Mary Beth Magee has crafted a delightful debut novel for her new cozy mysteries series. Protagonist Mercy McKay returns to her home of Cypress Point, Mississippi, after many years living away. Along with her sister, Hope, and good friend, Susannah, she attends a garden tour and stumbles onto the body of a local woman. Despite protests from her sister and a former suitor looking to get back into her good graces, Mercy delves into the investigation with harrowing consequences. I enjoyed this book and getting to know the LOL4—Little Old Ladies, Laughing Out Loud, Living Our Lives with Lots of Love—and look forward to the next installment. This book makes me want to get out and plant something and pick up some yarn for a new crochet project. It’s a fun, easy read with likeable characters and would make a great addition to your summer holiday plans."

I loved this book. It kept you interested from start to finish. Unless something happens within 10% of a book, I usually quit reading and go to another book. This one started the interest almost immediately.

This book was very well written and I loved it. It's a mystery with no sexual overtones in it and leaves you unsure as to who done it until the end. Recommended for all who love a good mystery without an abundance of blood, guts and gore.
